I get back from my first lesson and plop down on the couch in fatigue, book in hand. A woman walks through the living room carrying a good-sized tortoise. Ok. Paragliding Medellin 01-28-2013

Today was probably the best paragliding I’ve done so far. Headed up the hill in Medellin with some friends to fly with Zona de Vuelo. Christien, my pilot, knew that I’m going to be taking classes, so he made sure to spend some time telling me how everything works. Glimpse of town creeping up to top of green mountain. The only flat area in town, built from a shored up hillside, is a baseball field so high it is topped with mist. Players in white uniforms look like field of dreams. Even at this altitude, the tops of the hills are dense with palm trees wherever there aren’t steep, criss-cross plowed farms. Dinner Jan 25, 2013 – MU Ribs, Medellin So absurdly ridiculously excited right now. Though there’s a major queue outside and they’re afraid of running out, I have somehow talked my way into getting MU Ribs to serve me at the “VIP table” for one on a tiny patio out back.
