Today I spent sunset soaring back and forth from the air above my home and the air above our local waterfall. Sun was fingering red between the clouds before it finally disappeared behind the mountains on the horizon.
Edit: also received a phone call when I was several hundred feet off the ground, which got me laughing. Considered answering it just for fun, but decided it wasn’t worth the risk of dropping my phone, so I let it go to voicemail.
This is a video from a very early flight, probably my second ridge-soaring flight. For anyone who keeps hearing me talking about it and is wondering what entry-level paragliding is like. Just watching this video it’s amazing how much I’ve progressed since then.
Since I’ve just bought my wing, I’ll be spending the next month here in Bucaramanga paragliding.
The Bad News: For the next month, this blog will consist primarily of paragliding and massages.
The Good News: For the next month, my life will consist primarily of paragliding and massages.
Bought a lightweight wing, reversible harness (meaning it acts as a backpack) and full helmet. Will write it up later. Here is a picture of my helmet, with the living room as a background. Now off to town to sell a kidney!
A bit tired today after a minimalist dj took me to her gig last night, which turned out to be a birthday party for the owner of a fashion company and modeling agency. Was fun.
Unable to nap at the moment but sitting in a hammock looking through the trees down at the farms and city in the valley below.
Hopefully buying a wing and harness tomorrow, testing out some different options this afternoon.
